In the calm of the off-season of local farmers’ markets comes word of a new indoor handcrafted market, the Artisan Exchange of West Chester. Set to debut on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m., this new market will feature many notable locally produced artisan goods.
Devised as a small business collaborative, the market is food-focused, aiming to provide an outlet for many independent food production entrepreneurs. Following opening day, the market will be open every Saturday, hosting more than 25 local food vendors and purveyors.
As a handmade food playland, expect everything from gourmet cupcakes from Dia Doce and artisan popsicles from Mompops, to fresh, authentic Italian pasta and sauces from Vera Pasta and micro-batch icy treats from Jenny and Frank’s Artisan Gelato. Handcrafted and hand-cured specialty sausages from Maiale Deli and Salumeria will as be in the lineup, as will organic coffee blends from Golden Valley Farms. Check out the full list of vendors here. Indie food-truck operators will be adding their adventurous street-food options to the weekend market, including favorites like the Korean fare-focused Ka’Chi Truck and the Mediterranean-themed breakfast and lunch truck, Lulu’s Cafe On the Go.
Rounding out the weekly experience will be hands-on demos, live music, farmers, crafters (candle and jewelry makers, etc.) and even snacks for your canine companions.
