West Chester Brings Al Fresco Dining to Gay Street

For its last Swingin’ Summer Thursday of the season, the borough will close part of its main drag for outdoor dining and family-friendly activities.

Summer is coming to a close, so to celebrate West Chester Parks and Recreation is enhancing the season’s final Swingin’ Summer Thursday with an al fresco twist. On Sept. 5, from 6:30 to 9p.m., borough diners can enjoy their meal on a car-free section of Gay Street.

Between High and Darlington streets, Gay Street will come alive for the occasion, complete with live music from Rob Dickenson and Perpetuals and games like corn hole. There will also be plenty of kids activities, including moon bounces and face painting. Shops and galleries will be open for the occasion, too.
