Have you ever wondered what part of the pig produces bacon? How about baby back ribs? Did you know that a pork butt actually comes from the shoulder? Get intimate with all parts of the pig with a nose-to-tail butchering class offered by Honey Brook’s Wyebrook Farm on September 24 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the Wayne Art Center.
Head butcher Alexi Alejandro will introduce participants to Wyebrook Farm and their efforts to pasture-raise their pigs, which results in increased marbling and extra rich taste. The demonstration will highlight cuts that you won’t find in your local supermarket and how to break down a whole pig.
Acquire a new appreciation for the art of butchery and the use of the whole animal, and learn a few new recipes, too.
Cost of this unique class is $25 per person. Reserve your seat online. For more information, visit www.wayneart.org or contact Kim at 610-688-3553 or via email.
Wayne Art Center is located at 413 Maplewood Avenue in Wayne.
