Put on your Top Chef-style judge’s hat and come out for a day of taste-testing barbecue chicken and ribs at Victory Brewing Company’s 9th Annual BrewBQ on Aug. 19, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Victory’s Parkesburg Brewpub.
In addition to a plethora of sweet, savory and hot barbecue, attendees will find a variety of Victory beer on tap at the BrewPub on Wheels, plus a limited menu inside. There will also be family-friendly activities, along with live Blues music and a kids’ area with games.
This year’s competition will showcase 30 pit master teams battling for the best barbecue chicken and ribs. A judging panel will determine the winner, and first through fourth prize winners will each receive cash prizes, trophies and bragging rights.
Guests are invited to taste the best pulled pork made by local restaurant vendors and vote on which is deserving of the coveted People’s Pork Award. While last year’s BrewBQ saw plenty of competitors, even more restaurants are stepping up to claim the prize this year.
Admission is free, and food items are pay-as-you-go. Vendors will accept cash only.
