Less than a year since the debut of his first Union Taco on Girard Avenue, chef Nick Farina is set to open a second location, at 4229 Main Street in Manayunk, with an expected launch in mid-July.
Nine choices of house-made soft flour and corn tortilla tacos, tortas, chorizo cheese fries, chips & queso, made-to-order guacamole and more will be on the menu, mirroring (for the most part) the original Union Taco menu. The 30-seat taqueria will be open for lunch and dinnertime for dine-in, takeout and delivery, Tuesday through Sunday, with late night hours until 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. And bring your own tequila! The BYO spot will offer complimentary fresh juice margarita mixers.
Chef Farina, who has owned and operated Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar, located at 818 W. Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr, since August 2009, has plans for at least one more Union Taco location in the coming months.
