Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar Celebrates Four Year Anniversary—Free Taco Special Part of the Birthday Celebration

Free tacos and … pot brownies? Read on for the G-rated details.

Bryn Mawr’s Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar has spiced up Lancaster Avenue since 2009, continuously featuring an ever-changing roster of Euro-Latin dishes prepared by owner/chef Nick Farina. The stocked, 70-plus brands of tequila behind the bar were never a bad dinner accessory either, served in flights or splashed in innovative cocktails, with upscale variations of margaritas always seen in that imbibing section.

But in honor of their fourth birthday, and the managing team decided it was time to get adventurous. While they have been hitting the road in their new kitchen-on-wheels, a taco truck that was a hit at the U.S. Open, they’re kicking it up a notch by launching a free taco Friday special available at the bar every Friday through August, from 5-7 p.m. (starting as of Aug. 9).

Better yet, the chef’s keeping us on our toes with his debut of scandalous “pot brownies”—which are much more PG than the name would assume. For just $9, finish your upcoming visit off with a sweet ending—a rich, dark chocolate brownie packed with chocolate fudge, chopped peanuts and banana mousse that is baked and served inside a flower pot with a sprig of mint.
