Pop-up beer gardens are all the rage in Philly throughout the summer, and now the suburbs have gotten in on the action. With plenty of outdoor space, fun food, family-friendly events, lawn games, live music and, of course, lots of beer flowing, these two new spots are sure to become as hot as the temperatures this summer.
The Creamery
Located at 401 Birch St. in Kennett Square in an old creamery that has been around since 1902, The Creamery features a full list of local craft beers like Sly Fox Phoenix Pale Ale and Victory Summer Love. The food menu is provided by Chef Jeremy Nolen of Philly’s Whetstone Tavern and Brauhaus Schmitz and includes small plates like marinated mushrooms, Bavarian pretzels and fried cheese curds, plus sandwiches like South Philly roast pork and a biergarten burger. Ambler Yards
The Ambler Yards Beer Garden offers an open-air meadow where visitors can enjoy craft beer, wine, corn hole, giant Jenga, Kan Jam, live music and a friendly atmosphere. The garden is located on one acre of shaded property within the Ambler Yards complex on 300 Brookside Ave. A menu of light fare from Cantina Feliz includes the Feliz dog, chicken tinga tacos and salsa, and guacamole with tortilla chips. Better act fast as the Ambler Yards Beer Garden will only be open Thursdays and Saturdays through June (weather permitting) and is invite-only.
