Two Local Chefs to Appear on “Guy’s Grocery Games” on May 1

At the Table BYOB’s husband and wife duo, Alex and Tara B. Hardy, competed on the popular Food Network show.

Husband and wife co-owners and chefs Alex and Tara B. Hardy of Wayne’s At the Table BYOB have been wowing diners since they debuted their intimate Louella Court restaurant several years ago. This week, they’re taking their culinary prowess to the national stage when they’ll appear on the Food Network’s popular show, “Guy’s Grocery Games” on May 1.

“It’s the first time they have ever had restaurants on the show, as opposed to single competitors,” says Alex. The show, which airs at 9 p.m. and is hosted by Guy Fieri, pits chefs against one another in elimination challenges, testing their culinary skills as they make their way through grocery store aisles. Each challenge features a theme—like using only frozen food items—and is evaluated by a rotating list of guest judges.

The chef who makes it through all three challenges then has two minutes to go through the aisles collecting items on a shopping list, with cash prizes awarded to winners.

Alex and Tara received the call to participate on the show back in October. “We flew out to California and filmed the episode,” says Alex. “Guy was incredibly sweet and there is a dish that Tara did that should blow everyone away.”

To celebrate, Christopher’s in Wayne will host a viewing party on May 1 at 9 p.m. at the same time it will air on the Food Network.
