Merion Station’s Town Hall Coffee Co. has landed in the top 0.2 percent of the nation’s more than 25,000 independent coffee shops and chains in TheDailyMeal.com‘s recent list of “America’s Best Coffee Shops.”
The list, which set out to find “the places that dedicate themselves to the craft of coffee, from bean to cup,” put Town Hall Coffee at No. 33. Coffee experts, including baristas, shop owners, bloggers, educators, and roasters, nominated the shops they loved most. Then TheDailyMeal’s panel ranked the list of 150 shops based on criteria including “quality in coffee and food, atmosphere, customer service, and the ‘unique’ factor.”
Town Hall Coffee was praised in the ranking for its “outstanding roasters … and atmosphere of a true, down-to-earth coffee shop,” as well as “baristas with a personal touch.”
On its Facebook page, Town Hall thanked its “wonderful customers and all our friends that have been our constant supporters” and added, “Just wait for next year!”
Located at 358 Montgomery Ave. in Merion Station, Town Hall Coffee is open Sunday-Thursday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Owner Tim Noble will soon be opening a second shop in downtown Philadelphia at Ninth and Chestnut streets in the Ben Franklin House.
