Chestnut Hill pacesetter, Al Paris of Heirloom, Green Soul and Paris Bistro, has rallied an impressive army of Philly area chefs for one night only—all to celebrate the illustrious five-decade-plus career of the acclaimed Georges Perrier.
The six-course wine dinner, “Paris Celebrates Perrier,” unfolds Tues., Nov. 11, 6 p.m. at Paris Bistro. Organized as a fundraiser for James Beard Foundation’s scholarship fund, Paris will open his kitchen to a heavy-duty guest chef roster, all of which have completed culinary stints at Le Bec Fin themselves. From Top Chef winners and chefs Kevin Sbraga (Sbraga, The Fat Ham) and Nicholas Elmi (Laurel), to remarkable talents like Pierre Calmels (Bibou, Le Chéri), Chip Roman (Blackfish, ELA, Mica, The Treemont) and Robert Bennett (Classic Cake Company), this feast is sure to be a high-caliber culinary performance.
Each participating chef will produce hors d’oeuvres for the champagne reception and craft one of the night’s courses. The night’s wine pairings will be hand-selected by Paris Bistro’s sommelier, Wendy Wolf.
What could make the night even better? Any of the well-curated silent auction items up for grabs will send a food lover’s heart aflutter. From a fishing excursion with chef Roman, to a Top Chef-worthy stagiaire with chef Elmi, and even, a five-course dinner at Sbraga’s Test Kitchen hosted by chef Sbraga himself, you will want to get your hungry paws on these prizes and many more.
Tickets for Paris Celebrates Perrier are $250 per person, plus tax and gratuity ($225 plus tax and gratuity for James Beard Foundation members). Find Paris Bistro at 8229 Germantown Ave. in Chestnut Hill. Tickets may be purchased here or by calling (215) 242-6200.
