Top Five Summertime Cocktails

Light, refreshing and packing a punch, these five cocktails are must-haves before summer’s over.

In need of the ultimate summer cocktail? Main Line mixologists are stepping it up this summer with one-of-a-kind concoctions that are both refreshing and inventive. Curious which creations you need to order this season? Find our top five list below.

Greyhound at Saint James: This rosemary-infused vodka cocktail is a true farm-to-glass option of the restaurant’s imbibing roster, crafted with fresh grapefruit juice and an added splash of champagne. Not only is the concoction creative and gardenesque, but it’s also on special at happy hour for just $5.

Dirty Shirley at Avenue Kitchen: This red-hued cocktails ultimate drink of choice for those who sipped far too many Shirley Temples in their childhood years. The usual suspects —ginger ale, grenadine, muddled cherries—co-mingle with a generous splash of Barcardi Torched Cherry Rum, which kicks this straightforward cocktail into dangerously delicious adult bounds.

Hibiscus Tini at Riverstone Cafe:  This blooming cocktail marries a double dose of hibiscus (flavored vodka and syrup) with a liberal splash of Prosecco. The finishing touch is what wows crowds—an edible hibiscus flower plopped in the glass’ center.

Honeydew Summer Cooler at Bisou: Cocktail genius David Howard never skips a beat behind the bar, always concocting the latest addictive sip that we’re dying to get our paws on. He’s currently obsessed with house infusions, flipping his recent honeydew-infused rum into a summer-appropriate cocktail that’s shaken with lemongrass and topped with Reed’s ginger beer.

Runaway Golf Cart at Nectar: Bartender Zachary Ertell is equally fond of infusing seasonal fruits into the restaurant’s spirits. This time, melon is infused into vodka and married with homemade orangecello and dash of soda water. Sharp, yet fruity—we may need to order more than one.
