If you’re looking to experience the ambience and flavors of Japan, you don’t need to hop on a flight. Instead, head to Ardmore’s Maido, which is hosting its Japanese Winter Fest on Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Warm up with comfort food-style cooking demonstrations and delicious samples of traditional dishes like one-pot stew oden, corn soy milk stew, homemade tofu, gyoza, matcha lattes and matcha frugra.
The family-friendly event takes place inside the eclectic bazaar-like market, which overflows with prepared take-out snacks, fresh produce, frozen foods and aisles of authentic Japanese groceries and trinkets. The open kitchen and cafe are inviting, modern and relaxing, much like the festival promises to be.
