The Goat’s Beard Opens a Second Location

Plus, several restaurants are marking National Burger Month with a specials exclusively for the occasion.

>> Hair of the Goat: Adios, Xilantro. This month, Manayunk-based comfort-food-and-whiskey joint The Goat’s Beard is expected to debut its second location in the high-end Mexican eatery’s former Wayne digs (103 N. Wayne Ave.). The kitchen will be overseen by executive chef Joel Romano. 

>> Beef and Beer: Iron Hill Brewery marks National Burger Month with unique daily specials and brew pairings, available at all locations. Beer lovers can celebrate further at Iron Hill’s Media outpost during the 16th annual Brandywine Valley Craft Brewers’ Festival  on May 14, featuring more than 25 regional breweries.

>> What’s Old is New: Explore The Golden Age of King Midas exhibit at the Penn Museum on May 5, when both Patrick McGovern, scientific director of Penn’s Biomolecular Archaeology Project for Cuisine, Fermented Beverages and Health, and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery president Sam Calagione will offer tastings of their ancient beer recreations.
