The Drafting Room has Closed

After 23 years, the Exton mainstay has shuttered.

On Nov. 13, after 23 years of serving as a hot spot for craft beer and American cuisine, The Drafting Room Taproom and Grille closed its doors. Touted as one of the first restaurants to pour a variety of local craft brews—including Downingtown favorite Victory Brewing Company—the Drafting Room has been a Chester County staple since 1994.

Owner Andrew Weintraub has decided to focus on his other restaurant, the Brickside Grille in Eagleview Town Center. He follows his brother and former partner Howard’s lead; he left the restaurant three years prior to pursue other endeavors.

A note left on the door of the business and found on its website thanks all of those “who have helped make the Drafting Room a wonderful and proud place to work.” Both the business and liquor license are for sale.

It won’t be easy bidding adieu to ugly sweater nights, tap takeovers, beer brunch and the celebratory beer weeks that the Drafting Room hosted, but fortunately, gift cards and reservations will be honored at Brickside Grille, located at 540 Wellington Square in Exton.
