A dinner party on a farm is a grand idea, with food lovers and chefs regularly flocking to agricultural landscapes to host the next best event. But, what if you could kick the hosting duties, enjoy a farm-set dinner for a charitable cause, and even, spend the evening with some of local food scene’s most acclaimed chefs?
Heritage Farm, a year-round organic farm on three acres of transformed land located within the Methodist Home for Children’s charming campus in Philadelphia, is offering you the opportunity to do all of the above at their Heritage Farm Fare on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The local food festival will be hosted on the eye-catching property of Belmont Mansion as both a celebration of the region’s seasonal bounty and a fundraiser in support of the ongoing operation of the farm. While attendees enjoy stunning city views, a fine assortment of local fare will be served, crafted by area-wide tastemakers. Local libations will complement the chefs’ inventive cuisine, including small-batch event beer brewed by Boxcar Brewing Company and signature cocktails from Art in the Age.
Teases of the upscale, must-attend dinner party’s culinary lineup include: The Farm and Fisherman, Nectar, Supper, Di Bruno Bros., Derek’s, High Point Cafe, Russet, Philly Cow Share, Fork, Wyebrook Farm and Yellow Springs Farm.
A wonderful musical background to the evening will be provided by Doc Gibbs, former band leader on the Emeril Lagasse show.
Heritage Farm was established in 2011, dedicated to bringing homegrown food into the lives of the children and families of The Methodist Home for Children. The farm focuses in on providing opportunities to support healthy eating, physical activity, community engagement, and a connection to the natural world.
Tickets to the farm’s premier fundraiser are $75 per person and are available online. For more information, visit heritagefarmphiladelphia.org.
