The Millennium Ballroom in the Lowes Hotel will be the place to be on May 7 when some 40 of the area’s best restaurants and chefs will be preparing and presenting dishes as part of this year’s Taste of the Nation event. Taste of the Nation is a culinary benefit that takes place in cities all over the country to raise money for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, a nonprofit that seeks to end childhood hunger through programs and events that help children gain access to nutritious food.
Guests at this year’s event can pay $85 for a general admission ticket or $135 for a VIP ticket, which gets you in an hour earlier. Once inside, you’ll be able to wander the room, tasting and drinking items from the participating restaurants. This year’s chair is chef Kevin Spraga, Top Chef winner and owner of Philadelphia’s SPRAGA restaurant. Other chefs and restaurants who will be at Taste of the Nation are Tashan, Cantina Feliz, Lacroix, Modo Mio, Di Bruno Bros. and the Main Line’s very own Avalon and Avalon Pasta Bistro, Funky Lil’ Kitchen, Verdad and My House Cookies.
