Sweet Victory: Victory Brewing Company Gets Into the Ice Cream Business

The Downingtown brewery is now combining two of America’s favorite pleasures—beer and ice cream. Find out the flavors, plus another homemade product, hitting the Victory shelves.

Summer goes hand-in-hand with cold beer and ice cream cones—but together? Downingtown’s Victory Brewing Company seems to think so. The local brewery now makes three tasty homemade flavors with an entirely natural product called wort, which is water and malted barley extracted during the beginning phases of the brewing process. Choose from Triple Monkey banana ice cream with peanuts and caramel, made from the wort of Victory’s Golden Monkey brew; Hopped Up Devil, a Hop Devil wort ice cream with cinnamon, cayenne pepper and chocolate-covered coffee beans; or Storm King Crunch, chocolate ice cream made with Storm King Stout and studded with chocolate malted milk balls. Customers can purchase a pint ($4.24) or a quart ($7.99) from the Victory retail shop. And, while you’re there, look for Victory’s homemade root beer, available by the case ($22.99) or as a six-pack ($5.99). Visit victorybeer.com.
