Square 1682's Q Street Pop-Up Eatery is a Barbecue-Lover's Dream

Guillermo Tellez’s Wednesday-night barbecue fest rings in grilling season.

If you work in Philly, or want to take the train into Center City after work on Wednesday, May 9, you should make it a point to swing by Rittenhouse Square’s Square 1682, Guillermo Tellez’s hip eatery located next to the Palomar Hotel.

To help launch the restaurant’s outdoor patio for the summer season, Tellez is hosting a barbecue pop-up called Q Street, an all-day barbecue street party from 12-8 p.m. The outdoor barbecue will take place next to the restaurant on 17th and Sansom streets and will feature lots of food from the grill, music and a full bar, thanks to the restaurant’s partnership with ONEHOPE Wines, a West Coast winery that donates money from each bottle to various causes, like breast cancer and autism.

What kind of food can you expect to see on Wednesday? St. Louis barbecue pork ribs with chipotle-pineapple or Korean barbecue sauce, beer brats with roasted peppers and onions, chicken chorizo with avocado, burgers with bacon and cheddar and lots of sides like spicy baked beans, creamed cabbage and shrimp mac and cheese. square1682.com.
