THE SCOOP: Grace Winery’s historic property features an 18th-century Quaker farmhouse that once hosted the British after the Battle of Brandywine and served as both a safe house for the Underground Railroad and a Civil War infirmary. Guests can stay in one of the Manor House’s seven meticulously appointed guest rooms or in one of eight cottages housed in the original outbuildings. Five of the cottages have working fireplaces, and four offer kitchens.

WINE & DINE: Housed in a 1750s bank barn, the winery produces chardonnay, pinto gris, rosé and more. Its 2018 Dragonfly is a smooth blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, petite verdot and cabernet franc. Executive chef Dan Wood favors local, seasonal ingredients. Private dining options include a five-course pairing dinner in the underground wine cellar. Daily chef specials are available Thursday-Sunday in the tasting room. Several breakfast items are included with overnight stay.

RATES: $175-$515.
