The local king of the canned beer revolution, Sly Fox Brewing Company, is speeding deep into its teenage years, celebrating its 17th anniversary on Dec. 14 at the Phoenixville-based brewhouse and eatery.
In the standard celebratory fashion of the Chester County-bred craft brewery, the anniversary festivities will feature a full day of flavorful fun, which will jump-start as early as 10:30 a.m. with a four-course, six-beer brunch, available at $45 per person. The mid-morning tasting will be presented by Shorty’s Sunflower Cafe/The Sunflower Truck Stop, who will be pairing dishes like pork belly and broiled grapefruit benedict, red curry mussel porridge and zucchini bread french toast, with Sly Fox’s award-winning Belgian- and German-style beers.
Can’t squeeze the multi-course brunch into your Friday morning? Starting at 11:30 a.m., a four-option tapas pairing will be available for local fanatics, coupling palate-pleasing nibbles like chicken empanadas or eggplant and herbed goat cheese paired with hand-selected Sly Fox brews (Standard Porter, Saison De Cuivre, Odyssey, Chester County Bitter included).
But, while the enticing brunch and tapas pairings may have enough appeal to attract you to the beer-infused party, here’s an extra incentive: Thirty-plus Sly Fox beers will be available on tap, including a top-secret anniversary beer, which is teased to be a one-of-a-kind beer style that Sly Fox has never brewed before. We’re dying with anticipation—aren’t you?
