Second Helping

Get all the scoop on the imminent opening of chef John Brandt-Lee’s next BYO, Avalon’s Pasta Bistro.

If you’re a fan of John Brandt-Lee’s West Chester restaurant, Avalon, then you know his rustic Italian cuisine strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication. So, I was beyond excited when I found out that Lee is just a month or two away from opening Avalon’s Pasta Bistro in Downingtown.

Like his first restaurant, this bistro will be BYO (except for the complimentary sangria and three kinds of beer on tap), with a warm neighborhood feel. It will have outdoor seating, too. The focus will be on smaller portions of homemade pastas—like crab-and-lobster ravioli in a saffron, tomato and mussel jus—plus flatbreads, salads and an antipasti platter.

I’ll keep you updated as the opening of this much-anticipated restaurant gets closer.
