Restaurant News: Newtown Square's Sangkee Opens, Philadelphia’s Il Pittore Readies for a Fall Debut

Yet another Stephen Starr restaurant is planned for October, while the much-anticipated Sangkee Noodle Bowl welcomes customers to its new Main Line location.

So many restaurants are opening that I could keep myself busy for months trying new places. One more to add to my list is yet another Stephen Starr restaurant, Il Pittore, set to open in October at 2025 Sansom St. For this modern-Italian eatery, Starr is teaming up with his director of menu development, Chris Painter, who was also chef at the former three-bell-winning restaurant Tangerine. Il Pittore fills an 80-seat bi-level space, reminiscent of the Italian countryside. The wine list will feature bottles from both boutique and large Italian wineries. Stay tuned …
