» Start dialing: The opening of Aimee Olexy and Bryan Sikora’s new restaurant is likely to be several months out (Sikora has his sights set on the end of 2009). But with all the buzz their Talula’s Table (102 W. State St., Kennett Square; 610-444-8255, talulastable.com) has generated in its short life, you’d better draw a bull’s-eye on that calendar now. Go ahead and call it an annex— the new digs are just five doors down from where they are now. Occupying a space formerly owned by Jack McFadden (Turks Head Inn, The Gables), the new 50-or-so-seat restaurant comes with a liquor license and a funky bistro flair. Meanwhile, Talula’s has become Kennett’s version of the famed El Bulli restaurant in Spain, with Olexy, Sikora and the rest of their team incorporating an array of menus and ingredients.
» On again, off again: Initially, word was that Phoenixville’s Majolica (258 Bridge St., 610-917-0962, majolicarestaurant.com) had closed, signaling heartbreak for fans of chef Andrew Deery’s lively cuisine. But as it turns out, the bistro has been revamped, with fresh hues, recession-friendly French-inspired dishes, a prix fixe option, and more of Deery’s luscious desserts.
