Philly’s BBQ Fest is Serving a Great Cause

A celebration of all things barbecued is coming to Philly with live music and more, in support of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Summer is synonymous with sultry weather, cookouts and barbeques. To honor the season, Philly’s BBQ Fest 2016 is headed to Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, July 30, manning its many barbecues with sumptuous offerings.

Over 40 vendors will be sampling signature smoky dishes, with select food trucks offering even more goodies to satisfy palates. A craft beer garden will serve up delectable suds to keep the party going and slake thirst between bites of craft-smoked perfection. Aspiring barbecue specialists can join in on exclusive cooking demos with award-winning pitmaster and Fat Jack’s BBQ founder Glen Gross.

Even better, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the perfect excuse to tuck into these savory specialties, which will be accompanied by plenty of music. Carnival games and a rib-eating competition will keep folks of all ages and interests happy, as well. Expect on-site appearances from the Philly Phanatic along with radio hosts from 97.5 THE FANATIC, 93.3 WMMR, 102.9 WMGK and 95.7 BEN-FM.
