Penns Woods Winery Is Hosting a Pairing Series This Winter

Winemakers will guide visitors through pairings of cheese, honey or chocolate.

Looking to escape the stiff winds of winter and have a little fun while you’re at it? Head to Penns Woods Winery for exclusive wine pairings where winemaker Gino Razzia—who has over 40 years of oenology experience with the family-owned business—has prepared a full calendar of pairing events through February.

First among them are wine, cheese and honey pairings, which will be held Jan. 25-26. Visitors will sip carefully selected wines which include Viognier Reserve 2017, hard cider, Novi2018 (a nouveau style red), Cabernet Franc Reserve 2016 and Moscato 2019.

The cheeses—all produced in Pennsylvania and are sourced from Third Wheel Cheese Co.—include Clover Creek Cheese Cellar, Calkins Creamery, Otterbein Acres, Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy and Shellbark Hollow Farm, plus honeys from Taste Artisanal Market and Swarmbustin’ Honey.

Beginning Feb. 1 and continuing on weekends through the month, pairings segue into wine and chocolate, featuring sweets from Good Good Chocolates, Double Spiral Chocolate and Taste Artisanal Market. Wines for this pairing are Traminette 2019, PinotNoir 2017, Chambourcin Reserve 2016, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2015 and Lacrima Dolce (a red dessert wine).

Reservations are required for all upcoming pairings.
