If you eat a hoagie on Sarcone’s bread, you know it’s Sarcone’s bread. For years, it has set the standard in taste, with its fresh-from-the-oven crusty exterior and soft interior. Philly’s best eateries use it because they know that nothing else quite measures up.
A few doors down from the original Ninth Street bakery is Sarcone’s Deli, a delicious offshoot of the family-run business that also sells pizza, salads, sides and just about every kind of hoagie you can think of.
Now, this urban favorite has come to the suburbs. Open for a little under two weeks, Sarcone’s Deli West Chester has one mouthwatering menu, featuring soups, salads, more than 30 different hoagies and, of course, its famous seeded Italian bread. The hoagies come in three sizes, depending on how big your appetite is, but I suggest going for the big one and enjoying the leftovers for lunch the next day. I love all of the vegetarian options and the “Sonny Jr.,” made with turkey, roasted portobello mushrooms, sautéed spinach, fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinegar.
