Mentioning fast food just five years ago might have conjured visions of greasy burgers and over-salted fries. Quick options were limited to unhealthy grub that left diners feeling lethargic and most likely regretful. Then slowly, led by a national shift in the culinary scene toward local goods, appetizing options began to pop up in and near the cities we love.
Among the slew of Philadelphia openings, some successful and some not so much, Honeygrow has managed to set itself apart from the rest, reaping so much praise that the 16th and Sansom Street concept has multiplied! Their new, nearly identical double may now be found at 169 E. City Ave. in Bala Cynwyd.
Honeygrow’s loyalty to the motto “honest eating + growing local” is a big part of their success. It’s also the fueling factor behind their slow but certain quest to take over the fast-casual dining world. The new spot mimics this motto precisely, specializing in nutrient packed stir-fry dishes, all-natural salads, plus fresh squeezed juices, shakes and smoothies. While the menu is a simply delicious double take of Founder Justin Rosenberg’s creative offerings at his initial spot, the venue is almost double the size of the original.
The extra space will not go to waste, as crowds already located the hip Honeygrow and are eager to get their fast food fix—the kind that doesn’t leave you in a state of utter remorse.
