Scott Morrison and Vince Schiavone’s highly-anticipated Avero Craft Pizzeria will open its doors on Tuesday, July 9, in the same shopping strip as Whole Foods Devon.
Morrison, a partner of Berwyn’s Nectar, and Schiavone, a first-time restaurant owner, rehabbed the shopping center’s former Wine & Spirits Shop to debut a casual-and-cool Italian concept along Lancaster Avenue. The exterior comes splashed with a bright orange awning reading “eat, drink, love,” and the interior contains whimsical accents like strings of big-bulbed lights, courtyard umbrellas, wooden tabletops and a dark, unfinished ceiling. However, the leading focal point is the an eye-catching, copper-clad pizza oven, where much of the menu’s magic happens.
With the restaurant’s focus specializing in “craft food,” Main Liners may expect an extensive wood-fired pizza menu, from-scratch pastas, meatballs and tableside-tossed salads. Highlights of the duo’s signature pizza menu includes classic pies like margherita, gorgonzola and bacon, and mortadella, to must-try rarities like the pancetta and deep water tuna carpaccios and the $95 ossetra caviar with organic buttermilk ricotta variety. The bulk of the pizza menu ranges from $12–$19.50, while pasta options vary from $14–$24.
Avero also features a full-bar stocking craft beer, artisan cocktails and a well-curated wine list, and is open daily at 11 a.m. For more information, “like” them on Facebook.
