New Chef Lands at The Whip Tavern

The former Susanna Foo and Meritage culinary chief adds this Coatesville restaurant to her resumé.

Effective June 8, there will be a new face in the kitchen at The Whip Tavern in West Marlborough. Anne Coll, acclaimed for her culinary creations at Susanna Foo Gourmet Kitchen in Radnor and Meritage in Philadelphia, will be coming to The Whip as its new executive chef.

The tavern’s operating partner, K.C. Kulp, recently made the announcement, bringing to conclusion the quest for a new leader to continue the 10-year success of the award-winning English pub. Coll will replace Wyatt Lash, who stepped down late last fall.

In searching for Lash’s replacement, Kulp sought innovation, leadership and professionalism. Chef Coll plans to expand the traditional British offerings on the menu using fresh, seasonal and sustainable ingredients. Coll’s intention to deliver a state-of-the-art eating experience to Whip diners will be supported by her move closer to the sources and products available from Chester and Lancaster County growers.

Kulp said, “Clearly, Anne’s thought process and our concept will work well together. We’re pleased to open our kitchen to her creativity. We’ll add to her experience in procurement and prep of the highest quality ingredients.”
