New Cereal and Ice Cream Bar to Open in Newtown Square

Moo Moo Milk Bar, a build-your-own cereal bar offering milkshakes, sundaes and ice cream, opens July 5 in Edgemont Shopping Center.

Time travel is now possible—sort of—thanks to Moo Moo Milk Bar. The new concept, which will open in Newtown Square on July 5, offers a nostalgic take on childhood favorites, dishing up everything from milkshakes to heaping bowls of cereal to its signature cereal-infused ice creams, all while Saturday morning cartoons play throughout the space.

Owned by Matt and Rachel Baiada, Moo Moo Milk Bar pays homage to childhood favorites like Looney Tunes, which will be aired alongside vintage cereal commercials from the 1950s and ‘60s. “It’s all things cereal,” explains Matt. “We have homemade cereal ice cream, we have cereal milkshakes, and we have the good old fashioned cereal bowl.”

The Baiadas are no strangers to ice cream—the pair own a Cold Stone Creamery in Springfield—but wanted to break with the traditional mold. To do so, they’ve come up with unique blends of cereal-flavored ice creams, which they’re making themselves by mixing a pound of cereal with cream and milk to create fun flavors.

The cereal-based ice creams will be available in eight flavors, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Fruity Pebbles and Cap’n Crunch. Summer-themed sundae treats include the s’mores sundae, made with Golden Graham ice cream and Hershey bar pieces, a graham cracker crumble, fudge and marshmallow sauce.

In keeping with the Saturday morning, kid-inspired theme, customers can also order heaping bowls of cereal with a choice of whole, skim, soy and chocolate milk.

“It’s the ultimate comfort food,” says Matt.
