There are few better ways to spend the last days of summer than an evening of music and craft beer. The Binky Lee Preserve in Chester Springs is hosting such an event, Beats & Brews, on Sept. 9, from 6–9:30 p.m. as part of its effort to preserve the regions’ land. Tickets, which are $50, include two beers from Victory Brewing Company’s Brewpub on Wheels. Light dinner fare and additional beer will be available for purchase.
Pack some camping chairs, a blanket and bug spray to make the most of this event, situated in the rolling hills of Chester Springs atop Binky Lee Preserve. The preserve encompasses 112 acres, currently being restored to natural woodlands and meadows. To convert this farmland, Natural Lands has planted more than 10,000 native trees, creating a natural backdrop of lush greens.
As part of Natural Lands’ Music Without Walls series, which celebrates the ambiance of nature with fantastic musicians, MiZ & Friends will be rocking through 50 years of the Grateful Dead. MiZ hails from Northeast Pennsylvania, and his skillful mastery of both acoustic and electric guitar evoke a soulful, rock-American experience.
Proceeds will go toward restoration projects and improved amenities at Binky Lee, as well as the preservation of Natural Lands’ newest project, Bryn Coed Farms. Natural Lands saved Bryn Coed from development, but it must reach a goal of $5 million in its Campaign for Bryn Coed Farms in order to convert the land to a 500-acre nature preserve that will be open to the public and will include nearly 10 miles of trails.
