Narberth's Aperto BYOB Makes a Good First Impression

In the former Gemelli space, Chef John Wolferth serves a tempting menu—with wine suggestions to boot!

Narberth has been hopping lately. First, Georges Perrier’s The Art of Bread opened. Then, a few weeks ago, Gemelli officially became Aperto, the new eatery of John Wolferth that features modern American cuisine with European and Mediterranean touches. I spoke with Wolferth recently, and he couldn’t have been happier with opening week. Busy dinner services and good responses to the food are, hopefully, good signs for Aperto.

I’m looking forward to trying out this BYOB myself, especially dishes like lobster-and-crab tortelloni with lemon, sage and truffle butter. The beef short ribs, with salsa verde and white-cheddar polenta, also sound wonderful. And, on the restaurant’s website, Wolferth recommends wines to bring, not only to complement the menu but to also encourage diners to try something different. A nice touch, indeed!
