I’ve considered myself extremely lucky to have Clark Gilbert’s delicious Italian eatery, Gemelli, just a few short blocks from my house. But, sadly, Gilbert cooked his last meal at the Narberth location on April 16. Turns out, he sold this popular BYO to his friend, John Wolferth, formerly of Savona and Sola (among others). The concept hasn’t changed yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a new sign is hanging up and a new menu is taking shape as I speak. I’ll keep you posted on the latest details.
But what about Gilbert? He’ll still be local, taking Gemelli to Manayunk’s Main Street in the former MangoMoon location, which closed just last month. He’s planning to open the new restaurant sometime in June. I’m excited to see what he does with the space and how the transition to Manayunk goes. But I know Gilbert’s fans will follow—myself included!
