Early this fall, Wayne’s Margaret Kuo’s Akari Room, the mod-chic Japanese concept on the second level of the East Lancaster Avenue behemoth, decided to give their already-respectable sushi program a facelift.
Now, for just $65 per person, your sushi bar will be reinvented with the house sushi chef, Ixan Chang, guiding you through a top-grade, traditional tasting featuring the day’s stock of fresh fish.
The chef, who packs sharp skill sets, illustrated through his creative, artistic presentations, pushed for the authentic tasting to come to Wayne—and, Margaret Kuo bought it. The one-night-only tasting is always different and nears twenty courses. Course by course, right before your eyes, the chef gracefully prepares and presents vibrant, colorful creations with flair, as if it is a grand performance for a large audience.
You haven’t had fish as fresh as this—trust us. Margaret Kuo’s omakase changes each night, but expect your tastebuds to dabble in sea urchin, toro, striped bass, yellowtail, escolar, squid, tuna, and more. Interludes of miso soup, cooked shrimp and egg custard elevate the precise, talent-filled experience.
Variety is key with the new omakase, and service is impeccable. City-wide sushi temples may start bowing down now. Reservations are recommended; call: (610) 688-7200. Visit margaretkuo.com.
