After two successful years as the Manayunk Harvest Fest, the Manayunk Development Corporation is morphing its fall celebration. The new MANAfest will take place on Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
What was once a small music and food festival in Pretzel Park will now close down Main Street for an afternoon of live music, food and artisan vendors. Family-friendly activities include professional pumpkin carving, face painting, a petting zoo and three stages of live music.
Look for 35 of Manayunk’s independently-owned small businesses to participate, including The Little Apple, Pineapple on Main, Winnie’s Manayunk and The Goat’s Beard. There will also be farmers market-like vending, shopping deals and al fresco dining throughout the day. Food vendors from the region will also be in attendance for MANAfest, including Cow and the Curd, Nick’s Roast Beef and John and Kira’s Chocolates.
MANAfest kicks off the return of Manayunk Fall Restaurant Week, which runs from Sept. 23-29. Throughout the week, select restaurants will offer special three-course $15, $25 or $35 meals, many showcasing seasonal bites. This year’s participants include the Couch Tomato Café, Lucky’s Last Chance, Taqueria Feliz, Jake’s and Cooper’s Wine Bar, the Spicy Belly and Yanako.
