Carol H. Axelrod Memorial Blood Drive
Oct. 9-10, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Wynnewood

Now in its 10th year, this blood drive, held at the Lankenau Medical Center has two benefits. For every unit of blood collected, Axelrod’s family will make donations to Lankenau’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and to Peter’s Place, a local center for grieving children and their families.

Taste of Ardmore
Oct. 12, 5:30-9 p.m., Ardmore

Sample some of the area’s best restaurants and breweries at this annual culinary celebration. A panel of judges will crown their choice for Best Homebrewer and voters will also have a say in naming a winner. A Best Home Cook will also be selected.

James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Benefit Dinner
Oct. 13, 5-11:30 p.m., Philadelphia

Kick off Philadelphia’s weekend-long Taste America program at this benefit dinner, which highlights the city’s culinary talent. Hosted at the Museum of the American Revolution, the event will feature celebrity and local chefs, pre-dinner VIP reception and four-course menu.

BLINGO
Oct. 14, 7-11 p.m., Philadelphia

Help raise money and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at BLINGO, a fun-filled night of bingo, bling and celebration featuring a live auction, gourmet food and cocktails. Attendees will include WMMR’s Kathy Romano, former Eagle Tra Thomas and former Governor Ed Rendell.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk
Oct. 14, 4:30 p.m., Wayne

Approximately one million people gather at the 150 Light the Night Walk events across the United States and Canada to help raise awareness and funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Join in locally at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne.

Conshy Beer Festival
Oct. 14, 1-5 p.m., Conshohocken

Brews from more than 50 local, regional and national breweries will be on hand at the 2017 Conshy Beer Fest, held at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium.

Chaddsford Winery Adult Trick or Treat Weekends
Oct. 14-15, 12-5:30 p.m., Chadds Ford

Pumpkin Days Celebration at Tyler Arboretum

26th Annual Dilworthtown Inn Wine Festival
Oct. 15, 12-4 p.m., West Chester

Sip for a good cause at the Dilworthtown Inn Wine Festival, which features more than 100 wines, craft beers and ciders in benefit of Neighborhood Health and the Abramson Cancer Center at Chester County Hospital.

Longwood Gardens Chrysanthemum Festival

Take in the more than 20,000 blooming chrysanthemums at Longwood’s conservatory and marvel at the magnificent Thousand Bloom chrysanthemum.
