Main Line Guide to Dining Out on Christmas Eve & Day

Let someone else handle the holiday meals. Between Christmas Eve and the big day, there are plenty of places to gather round the table, even if it’s not yours.

Take a much-needed break from the last-minute present-wrapping and feast-prepping, and let the area’s best chefs create the main culinary event for you and your loved ones. Below, you’ll spy our top picks for dining out on Christmas Eve and even, a few notable spots opening up their doors on Christmas Day.

Open Christmas Eve:

Alfredo BYOA traditional Seven Fishes Feast is available courtesy of the acclaimed Giannaccari family at Alfredo Italian BYO in Berwyn on Dec. 24. Enjoy a southern Italian-style five-course, family-style meal for just $49 per person. Guests will find delicious, authentic eats in a simple and inviting atmosphere—plus, a limited holiday a la carte menu will also be available.

Bite of Italy in Kennett Square and Avalon Restaurant in West Chester will also be hosting Feasts of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve.

Amani's BYO (Hoffer Photography)Chef Jonathan Amann invites you into his charming Amani’s BYOB on the night before Christmas, serving his full farm-fresh menu from 5-9 p.m. Tempt your friends and family with memorable dishes like the seared Scottish salmon with blood orange vinaigrette, Long Island duck breast with cranberry demi glace, and the pumpkin butter-glazed pork tenderloin with bourbon molasses.

Speed over to Citron and Rose for an incredible, very Jewish (read: all-kosher) Christmas feast from 5:30-10 p.m. If you can’t swing Christmas Eve, chef Michael Solomonov serves up a second chance to sample his Jewish delicacies on Christmas Day, with dinner available from 5:30-10 p.m.

Firecreek Restaurant invites you to celebrate the season over their four-course Christmas Eve feast—a lineup dancing with lobster croquettes, beef carpaccio, stuffed-pork galantine and banana leaf-wrapped sea bass. Dinner is served 4–8 p.m.

Jump-start Christmas Day by hitting Center City’s swanky 10 Arts from 7 a.m.–noon for brunch. Too many presents to unwrap? A four-course dinner tasting menu will debut as of 2 p.m. (available until 8 p.m.). Cost is $110 per person; $55 for children age 4–12.

Desmond Hotel & Corporate Center (Nina Lea Photography)Desmond Hotel & Conference Center invites you to join them for Christmas Dinner. They’re offering such a feast within their Hunt Room for the first time ever. The festive dinner is available from 3–7 p.m., and reservations are required. Menu includes Maryland-style crab bisque, Black Angus prime rib, roasted half duck, rack of lamb and butterscotch pudding. Pay as you go.

Paramour’s chef de cuisine Kyle Johnson will be preparing a special four-course dinner Christmas Day featuring field mushroom soup with black truffles, bison ribeye and roast turkey with sage stuffing, chocolate hazelnut torte and sour cream apple tart, plus more! Prix fixe menu available at $65 per person; wine pairing is an additional $30 per person.

La Porta of Media will be open as of 6 p.m. on Christmas for your share of liquid merriment, as will Appetites on Main of Exton at 8 p.m., with a limited menu available.
