Lulu’s Casita to Open in West Chester

A second location of Ardmore’s beloved child-friendly café will open late this summer.

Lulu’s Casita in Ardmore was an instant hit with parents and kids. The child-friendly indoor playground gives children a fun and safe space to play with others, while parents unwind nearby. Lisa Elliott, who formerly worked at the Ardmore location, loved the concept so much she decided to open her own location in West Chester. It is slated to open late this summer.

The West Chester location’s split-level building has a café on the first floor and a play space downstairs. Lulu’s Casita is geared towards babies through age 6 and their accompanying family members, fulfilling the need for a space that adults and young children can both enjoy. “We try to make it as fun as possible for kids and adults to make memories together. That’s really the goal,” Elliott says.

While kids play, parents can look on or catch up on work, chat or grab a cup of coffee. “We have a full café—lattes, coffee, iced lattes and some light snacks,” says Elliott. As for the kids, the playroom has “a ball pit, a big slide, [and] a little rock climbing set up on top of the slide,” adds Elliott.

Although Lulu’s Casita will mainly serve as a playroom and café, parents can also sign up for babysitting services if they require alternative childcare. Like the Ardmore location, Elliott’s West Chester outpost will offer events, including BYOB pizza nights every Friday and a story time every week.

“We get a lot of regulars who come in and you see them grow and change and make their own personalities. It’s just the best feeling seeing little ones laugh and have a good time,” says Elliott.
