Local chef Keith Taylor, who owns Zachary’s BBQ in Norristown, is competing on an episode of Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games. The episode will premiere at 8 p.m. on June 18 in a Father’s Day-themed show called “Father Cooks Best.”
Check out the program description:
“It’s a Father’s Day feast when three dads and their kids pit their family recipes
against each other for a shot at $20,000! First, they must make their greatest
grilled dinner using the processed ingredients found in the store’s middle aisle.
Then, dads and kids enjoy a round of bowling that will determine the store
ingredients they’ll have to score for their game day favorites.”
Besides running Zachary’s BBQ, Taylor also operates Chefsoul Culinary Enterprises, a catering and culinary consulting business. Part of Chefsoul’s mission is to give back to the community, so he hopes to win big on Guy’s Grocery Game to raise money for Convoy of Hope Norristown, a charity that provides free groceries, health and dental screenings, haircuts, family portraits, meals and much more to those in need.
Chef Taylor will be competing on the show with his son Zachary, who is a graduate of Radnor High School, currently attends Penn State and is a USMC ROTC Officer Candidate.
“My son Zachary and I had some fun doing the show trying to raise money for Convoy of Hope. I am the food committee chair for this event, where we are dedicated to helping families help themselves,” Taylor says. “We will have over 5,000 attendees this year in Norristown at the signature event on September 23. This is one of the biggest efforts that I am dedicated to each year with my family and my kitchen team.”
Tune into Guy’s Grocery Games on June 18 to cheer on the Taylors.
