Local cheese and bread lovers are in for a treat as the Farm at Doe Run, La Baguette Magique and Le Fromager team up to present a collaborative launch party for a unique cheese and bread share.
A loaded basket of assorted cheeses from the Farm at Doe Run and other artisans, complemented with fresh breads and a special surprise product will be available every other week as part of the share, according to Le Fromager owner, Emilie Pelletier.
Pelletier, a French Canadian who’s lived in Chester County for eight years, came up with the idea, saying she’s long been a fan of La Baguette Magique and cheeses from the Farm at Doe Run.
At Le Fromager, she imports and distributes cheeses from a few of Quebec’s craft cheese makers. “My motivation for doing this type of share comes from a tradition that my family has of breaking bread and indulging in good cheeses at Saturday family dinners,” she says.
“I look forward to hosting the launch party, which brings together local artisans who give our community a chance to enjoy the experience of the pairings of my soft and crusty breads,” adds Catherine Seisson owner of La Baguette Magique. “People have been sharing good times together via the marriage of good loaves and fresh cheese for ages in France, and we wanted to bring that joy to this area.”
The launch event will take place from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 29 at La Baguette Magique and will give attendees the chance to meet the owners, sample products, sip complementary wine and sign up for shares.
The $30 share baskets will be available for pick up every other week at the Artisan Exchange in West Chester during the Saturday market.
