Kennett Square’s The Creamery Will Reopen Nov. 16

The beer garden, which was closed for the summer, will now be open year-round.

Following months of closure and uncertainty about its future due to zoning issues, the Creamery will reopen to the public on Nov. 16*. Going forward, the popular Kennett Square hangout will be open year-round, instead of only operating in the summer months.

* Editor’s note: Due to Thursday’s snow storm, the Creamery has postponed their reopening celebration until Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

The beer garden first opened in 2016, transforming a vacant industrial lot on Birch Street into a cozy, family-friendly neighborhood spot complete with string lights and beer hall-style seating. The property, which was once home to a condensed milk company and mushroom cannery, featured lawn games, fire pits, local artists and a rotating lineup of craft beer and food trucks in its first two years. The Creamery also hosted the Kennett Square Holiday Village Market in 2016 and 2017, and according to the holiday market’s website, it plans to do so again this year starting on Dec. 1.

While the owners of the Creamery have not confirmed if all of its original offerings will return, a statement on their website says that the space has “undergone huge transformations over the past year while still holding on to what makes it so special.” One feature that has been confirmed is Chop Shop, KSQ, an axe throwing and event space that will share the Birch Street property with the Creamery. Chop Shop will also open on Nov. 16.

The Creamery will host a grand reopening celebration on Nov. 16, starting at 6:30 p.m., featuring local food trucks Rigatoni’s Mobile Crab Cakes, the Wandering Chef and Natalie’s Fine Foods. Visitors can expect live music from Kid Davis & the Bullets, Bucci Band, and the Essentials.
