Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant Coming to Ardmore

Scheduled for a 2014 opening, the Ardmore spot will be the brewery’s 11th location and a welcome addition to the town’s thriving beer scene.

The small-batch, craft brewing gang of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant have just leaked the details of their latest brewpub expansion: They’re opening their 11th location come early 2014 in Ardmore, following the opening of the tenth location coming to Voorhees, NJ in early 2013.

One of Iron Hill’s founding partners, Kevin Finn, reveals that they have been looking on the Main Line—and particularly in Ardmore—for years and have been working with Heidi Tirjan, the retail recruiter from Lower Merion, to scout out prime locations. “We were close to signing a lease in Ardmore back in 2009, but the deal just did not happen,” he said.

The local brewpub will join the quickly-expanding craft beer scene in Ardmore, taking up residence within a former carpet store in the Ardmore Plaza at 44 Greenfield Ave.

“We believe Ardmore will be a great location for an Iron Hill,” continued Finn. “Most of our business comes from within the community and we believe Ardmore will provide the community support that makes us successful. In doing so, we can do many of our programs that give back to the community like our Give 20 program and our local charity program. We also create a wide variety of dining occasions and believe there is an opportunity to cater to families, large parties, and business people in the community.”

The restaurant will be following suit of the other Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurants: open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week, serving their made-from-scratch menu, which includes soups, sandwiches, pizzas, salads and entrees, and covers a variety of cuisines from ethnic to hearty comfort foods. The new Main Line Iron Hill will also offer a gluten-free menu, kid’s menu and kid’s gluten-free menu.

Will Ardmore be the next “big thing” in the local craft beer world? Time will tell, but as of now, the new Iron Hill is a “moving target… still in the design phase but expected to open early 2014,” concluded Finn.

In the meantime, check out what their beer-centric neighbors have to offer, including the town’s first brewing company, Tired Hands Brewing Company, as owned former Iron Hill brewer Jean Broillet IV, and The Beer Shoppe (44 Greenfield Ave.), Peter Vitale’s bottle shop that touts 900 craft, microbrew, import and domestic beers.
