Trying to figure out the best wine to serve at Thanksgiving? Why not turn to the pros? What Am I Drinking?! Wine Education Studio in Bryn Mawr is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Wine class on Nov. 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The class will feature a lesson and tasting of six sommelier-favorite Thanksgiving wine varieties.
Tickets for the class are $40.
“I’m an advocate of sparkling wine all the time—especially on a food-focused holiday like Thanksgiving,” says WAID’s founder and principal wine educator, Serena Zelezny. “The focused acidity and bubbles cleanse your palate between bites of rich gravy-soaked stuffing.”
She also likes a good red wine option like pinot noir, which is light enough, while still packing enough acidity to partner with both white or dark turkey. A smoky syrah is good for accentuating earthy autumn flavors.
