Iron Hill Brewery always goes above and beyond during the month of October, and this year is no exception. The favorite local pub and brewery has just released its Great Imperial Pumpkin Ale, an autumnal brew made with more than 200 pounds of pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, molasses and Belgian candi sugar (a Belgian sugar typically used in brewing). The ale is only being sold for a very limited time in cork-finished 750 ml bottles for $19.50 at all nine Iron Hill locations.
If you don’t want to purchase an entire bottle, there are still plenty of ways to get your pumpkin beer fix at several fun events. On Saturday, Oct. 27, Iron Hill West Chester will host The Gathering of the Gourds, a pay-as-you-go event featuring guest brewers and their pumpkin beers. Costumes are encouraged. That same weekend, Iron Hill Phoenixville is hosting Pumpkin Weekend, a two-day pumpkin extravaganza. The restaurant will offer the Imperial Ale as well as a special menu with items prepared with pumpkin. Pumpkin weekend is from 12-10 p.m. on Oct. 26-27.
