After wowing diners at The Gables at Chadds Ford, Dave Wenerd is now turning heads as the new executive chef at Grain Bar + Kitchen in Kennett Square. With an eye for seasonal ingredients and a flare for refined and reimagined dishes, Wenerd is expected to add some striking twists to Grain’s craft menu.
He’s already planning a rooftop garden that diners can admire from 410@Grain, its upstairs patio that features retractable windows for al fresco dining in warmer months. In addition, he’s using his creative skills to develop event and catering options.
A graduate of the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College, Wenerd went on to work as executive chef at Bistro on the Brandywine before he joined the Gables’ team. We can’t wait to try Wenerd’s menu, complemented by dozens of craft beers and a full bar. Don’t miss live music Thursday through Sunday.
Grain Bar + Kitchen is open for lunch and dinner from 11:30-2 a.m., Monday through Thursday, 10-2 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Sunday. Brunch is offered on the weekends.
