Save the date and escape to Brandywine Health Foundation’s 11th Annual Garden Party, which is slated to unfold on Wednesday, May 22, on the Springbank Farm of Coatesville.
As spring’s ultimate outdoor affair, guests will enjoy a light supper provided by John Serock Catering, plus beer, wine and cocktails, and a private fireworks display.
The Hawaiian-themed soiree’s main event is the Battle of the Berries at Brandywine, an annual culinary competition sponsored by Univest Bank and Trust Co. For this sweet treat throwdown, esteemed Chester County restaurants will present award-worthy, berry-infused desserts, with attendees and a panel of celebrity judges teaming up to name one creation the best overall.
Northbrook MarketPlace was named last year’s “People’s Choice” winner and Amani’s BYOB received the title of “Culinary Excellence.” Both champions will return to 2013’s competition, vying to wear their dessert crowns for another year against Bordley House Grille, Duling-Kurtz House and Country Inn, Firecreek Restaurant + Bar, General Warren Inne, Station Taproom and The Orangery at Glen Isle.
The Garden Party kicks off the 2013 Strawberry Festival, presented by PECO and proudly supported by First Niagara. The festival is slated for Thursday, May 30 to Sun., June 2 on the grounds of the Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville.
