Get Happy

Unwind after a long workday (and winter) with the perfect happy hour.

We’re just a few days shy of spring, and that means warm weather is on its way! Shake off the winter chill by gathering some friends or colleagues for happy hour—and if you’re lucky, it might be warm enough to snag an outdoor table. Here are some local eateries with not only great happy hour libations but also delicious food.

Radnor’s 333 Belrose serves tasty cocktails (think pomegranate and cucumber martinis, or a Patron margarita) and half-priced appetizers in the bar area. Choose from St. Peter’s Bay mussels, Angus beef sliders, pulled pork flatbread, nachos and more. 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday. 333belrose.com.

If you’re a fan of Susanna Foo (who isn’t?), her Gourmet Kitchen in Radnor offers a great happy hour. Specialty cocktails like the kumquat mojito and the mango-mandarin-orange martini are just $6, and dumplings and sushi rolls are only $3-$4. Other noshes include crab cake sliders, crispy goat cheese ravioli, glazed spare ribs and a lot more. 4:30-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Susannafoo.com.

If you’re closer to the Penn Valley/Narberth area, swing by Derek’s in Manayunk when drinks are half-price. I can’t wait to sit at one of the outdoor tables on Main Street with a white-grape martini and crabmeat spring rolls, and enjoy the sunshine. 5-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Dereksrestaurant.com.
