Clark Gilbert has settled into his new digs in Manayunk, recently opening the doors to his improved eatery: Gemelli on Main. If you were a fan of his former neighborhood restaurant in Narberth, I’m certain you’ll like this larger space, which sits comfortably toward the “end” of Main Street—away from the traffic and parking issues.
Gemelli on Main looks beautiful from the outside in. Sleek and sophisticated, yet friendly and welcoming, the open restaurant sports gorgeous hanging lanterns and vivid red accents. It even has a second-story bar, where guests can enjoy wine and cocktails.
Now, let’s get to the cuisine. Gilbert’s food has always been superb. His Italian menu, with some French influence, is sure to please diners. I was glad to see the vitello tonnato—his signature appetizer at the old Gemelli—still on the menu. This dish consists of tuna tartare, crispy sweetbread and tonnato sauce. Entrées include seafood, a few meat dishes, and a nice selection of pasta. All in all, the menu looks well-rounded. I can’t wait to get there.

This time around, Gilbert has a liquor license. Dinner is served seven days a week, and Gemelli on Main is open for lunch each Saturday and Sunday. Guests can park in the Lock Street parking lot across from the restaurant.
