Food Fight

Well, not really. But there will be some culinary competition come Feb. 4 during First Friday Main Line’s third annual Foodapalooza at the Haverford Estates (behind the Main Line Art Center).

For just $20, guests can sample food from a number of Main Line restaurants like A la Maison, Sweetgreen, Hunan, Buca di Beppo, Gullifty’s, Khajuraho, MilkBoy Coffee, Verdad and Whole Foods Market—all while sipping wine from Majestic Wine & Spirits. The Main Line’s spring newcomer to Suburban Square, Di Bruno Bros., is also joining this year.

Heat Things Up

If you’re one of those couples who likes to go out on Valentine’s Day rather than cook a romantic meal at home, here’s a great dinner deal to book now. It Takes a Village

One of my favorite things on Earth is good coffee, and One Village is up there with some of the best I’ve had. I’ve been hooked ever since I picked up a bag of Artist Blend at Whole Foods a few months back.
I recently learned that One Village is based in Souderton and roasts up to 1,000 pounds of coffee each day—just think how good the office must smell!
Not only is the coffee delicious, but One Village is very connected to the community on both local and global scales. To keep a low carbon footprint, the company only deals with businesses within a 500-mile radius. Each bean is certified organic and fair trade. Everyone who works with or for One Village is connected, from the growers to the farmers to the drinkers. And the company’s founders even travel to Nigeria to meet the coffee farmers and get involved in the growing and farming process.
