Cherished regional food and beverage festival The Brewer’s Plate returns on March 5 at the Kimmel Center. The annual event is committed to the mantra “buy fresh, buy local” and brings together many of the region’s outstanding chefs, farmers, food artisans, brewers, distillers and wine makers to benefit nonprofit organization Fair Food.
Fair Food was founded in 2000 by Philadelphia entrepreneur Judy Wicks, who wished to spread the locally sourced model of her restaurant White Dog Café to other businesses in the region. Fair Food began with the narrow focus of keeping more farmland in production by connecting chefs with local farmers, and it has since expanded its reach to a broad range of buyers and producers, from small-scale diversified farmers to mid-size growers who supply colleges, hospitals and other institutions.
Fair Food has built demand for local food across all sectors of the Philadelphia-area food system. By shining a spotlight on the men and women who grow our food, Fair Food and its partners have created a paradigm shift in the public’s perception of local agriculture and the importance of protecting our food system.
The celebration is a who’s who of the best in local eats and drinks and unfolds in a space as grand as the event itself—the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Below are some of the scheduled participants who will be offering sips and bites:

VIP Plus:
The VIP Plus experience will take place in the Hamilton Garden of the Kimmel Center at 4 p.m. Back by popular demand, this is an exclusive opportunity to get up-close and personal at an exclusive pre-festival beer-driven culinary extravaganza. Expect a sampling of limited-edition beers and exclusive pairings while enjoying gorgeous views of the bustling city from the rooftop garden. Only 150 tickets will be available at $130.
VIP:
As a VIP ticket holder, attendees will gain early access at 5 p.m. to all vendors and a keepsake glass. Don’t miss that extra hour to fill your special glass with limited VIP-only brews. Tickets are currently $90 per person, but the price increases to $100 on January 18. VIP tickets are limited.
General Admission:
Limited tickets are currently available with early bird pricing of $67. After January 18, prices increase to $77 per person.
